Eyam
Trip Date – Saturday 21 November 2026
Start Time – 09:30 (09:00 meet)
Trip Type – Group Hike
Difficulty – Moderate
Location – Peak District
Come and say hello.
The walk is the excuse but having a chin wag is the whole point!
PLEASE NOTE: This is best accessed via car, however please message us with any questions about public transport. There is a pay and display car park in the village. The makers market is on that weekend so it is adviseable getting there early to secure a spot. We’ll put a car share message in the group chat beforehand. It is recommended to have a good level of fitness.
Eyam is one of the most beautiful historic villages in the Peak District, also known as the ‘Plague Village’, and somehow we’ve not brought the community here yet. So that’s being fixed!
We’ll meet in the village, get to know each other over a quick coffee before heading out to explore the surrounding countryside. After that, we’re heading back down into Eyam for their annual Festive Makers Market. Mulled wine, mince pies, and a potter round the stalls before the obligatory pub stop for our post hike pint.
This is a smaller group this time. 15 spots, because it’s a small village and we’d rather do it properly.
Exact location/pin drop will be sent once booked.
Hike details
Trail – Eyam and Sir William Hill Circular
Difficulty – Moderate
Distance – 7 miles

What’s included?
- A fully organised HELVETII trip
- Friendly hosts on the day
- A welcoming, social atmosphere
- Homemade flapjack on us
- Route selection from AllTrails/OS Maps so you can just show up and enjoy it
- A proper day out with the HELVETII community
Coming on your own?
Most people do. On a typical HELVETII trip, almost everyone has booked by themselves and don’t know anybody when they arrive.
By the end of the day, they’re swapping phone numbers and asking what’s next!
You will not be the odd one out. You’ll be in the majority.
If you’ve never done anything like this before and you’re a bit nervous about it, drop us a message. It’s the thing we get asked about more than anything else and we’re always happy to talk it through.
What do I need to bring?
We recommend checking the weather forecast before the trip and packing accordingly.
